Santa Paws brings some furry festive fun to Shropshire

Almost 160 years after it was first established, Whitchurch-based animal health supplies firm Osmonds is playing Santa Paws with three days of festive fun for furry friends old and new.

The family company is celebrating the opening of its newly refurbished shop – Petcetera at Bradeley Green – with a three-day event, jam packed full of special offers, seasonal goodies and mince pies.

Osmonds, the animal health product supplier, established in 1854, continues to be a pioneer in the field of animal nutrition and veterinary supplies, with Petcetera specialising in the world of dog grooming and showing products.

Heather Wilson of Osmonds explained that the shop will now have its own display area dedicated to ‘champion’ dogs including grooming products, tables and dryers.

Along with essentials such as brushes, shampoos, collars and leads, customers will also find specialist nutritional supplements, colognes, dental care products and training aids alongside the introduction of a range of dog and cat foods including Lily’s Kitchen, James Wellbeloved, Arden Grange, Skinners and a range of Natural Raw frozen foods.

“We wanted an improved retail space, which was much more customer friendly,” said Heather.

With an eye to Christmas, the store also has a selection of specialist toys, gifts and outfits – including some classic Christmas clothing – to make sure that when Santa arrives, four legged family members won’t feel left out.

A special invitation only open evening for dog groomers, kennel owners and vets will be held on Thursday, December 12.

This will be followed by a three-day launch event, from Friday December 13 to Sunday December 15, when visitors will treated to discounts on many items, as well as festive drinks and nibbles for those who attend – whether two or four-legged.

Opening hours are Monday to Saturday 9am – 5pm and Sunday 10am – 4pm.
