Understanding Employment Law and Pensions

BusinessesB2C Wales logo and community groups can get free legal advice on understanding employment law and pensions thanks to a workshop to be held in Denbigh this month.

The workshop, hosted by Business Supporting Communities (B2C) in conjunction with DVSC, and funded by the Big Lottery; is part of B2C’s Professionals initiative and will be run by legal experts from Gamlins Solicitors LLP.

For the first time, the workshop will be open to businesses as well as to community groups.

As well as giving businesses and volunteers the opportunity to learn more about a complex subject, the workshop will also form a cross sector networking event.

It is being held at the Glass Onion Café, Denbigh, where owner Susan Muse has agreed to offer her facilities free of charge as part of another B2C initiative, B2C Share.

B2C Project Officer Lucy Kew said: “This workshop is a great example of how businesses and community groups can come together for mutual benefit.

“Gamlins, who have already run a number of workshops as part of our Professionals initiative, will provide those in attendance with a better understanding of employment law and pensions and will be on hand to answer any questions they might have.

“It will also provide other businesses and community groups in the area with a chance to find out more about each other and could lead to mutually beneficial relationships.

“The workshop is being held in the wonderful surroundings of the Glass Onion café which Susan has kindly provided free of charge and it should be a great opportunity for all.”

Business Supporting Communities (B2C) is a Big Lottery funded project, delivered by the the six North Wales County Voluntary Councils, which aims to create mutually beneficial relationships between businesses and community groups, through a range of different initiatives, including B2C Professionals.

B2C Professionals links a broad range of specialist professional firms to a variety of community groups, which lack the resources to pay for professional advice, via cost-free workshops and bespoke one-to-one support sessions.

The free to attend ‘Understanding Employment Law and Pensions’ workshop will take place at the Glass Onion Café, Denbigh, on June 7 from 3pm until 5pm.
