Behind the scenes look with a mock employment tribunal

VOLUNTARY organisations and community groups are being offered free places on a ‘mock employment tribunal’ in Old Colwyn next week.

The mock tribunal is being run by Cardiff-based Capital Law, in partnership with Community Housing Cymru and five free places, worth £100 each are being offered through Business Supporting Communities’ (B2C) Share initiative.

The free places are strictly for voluntary organisations/community groups and delegates need to be within a senior management position.

The half day session aims to provide a clear understanding of the tribunal process and the relevant issues involved.

Experts from Capital Law, partners Sian Davies and Nia Cooper and associate Cathryn Edwards, will outline how to prepare for a tribunal, what happens during a tribunal, what it’s like to give evidence, how a case would be presented, how the tribunal will make its decisions and what goes on behind the scenes.

Sarah Thomas, B2C Project Manager said: “This is a unique opportunity for organisations to gain an insight into the workings of an employment tribunal and we are very grateful to Capital Law for offering free places to five voluntary or community groups through our Share initiative.”

“The places are aimed at decision makers within these organisations – Chief Executive, Chair or Board Member and places are strictly on a ‘first-come first-served’ basis.”

The workshop takes place in Old Colwyn next Tuesday, February 19.

The five free places are strictly for voluntary organisations or community groups. The cost for other organisations and businesses is £100 plus VAT.

B2C Share is an online marketplace run by Business Supporting Communities (B2C), where businesses can share facilities or spare training course places.

This could lead to new networking opportunities or even a new customer base.

Community groups can also advertise sharing opportunities they are looking for in their local area through our forum.  The arrangement is carried out between the donor and recipient. Offers are taken on a first come first served basis through contacting the B2C team.
