A Ruthin-based IT company is backing the Daily Post Go Local campaign by offering a county-wide discount to businesses.
Tengo Media has long offered customers within Ruthin a 33 percent reduction on its hourly rates, and will now extend the scheme across Denbighshire.
Tom Strapps MD of the IT firm, which includes the National Trust and Age Concern among its clients, explained his decision. “We work with companies across the UK and beyond, but our local clients helped us get the company off the ground and they continue to be vitally important.
It costs us less to provide our services in the immediate area around our base, so we are passing those savings on to our customers, as a thank you for their support.”
Mr Strapps, who lives a mile away from the company’s Birch House offices, welcomed the Daily Post campaign as an opportunity for businesses in North Wales to discover the diverse range of services are available on their doorsteps.
As someone who uses other business’ services, I’m always impressed by the talent available here in North Wales. I hope that the Daily Post campaign encourages more people to take a fresh look at what companies nearby can offer,” he said.
Tengo Media client Bari Evans of Pentre Motors, Llanrhaeadr added his backing to the campaign. “We enjoy working with local companies who give a good service. The advantages for us are that we get a personal service rather than being a number on someone’s Sage software, it also helps to keep the money local, benefiting the community through investment and employment.”
Mr Evans whose family garage has thrived thanks to community support, said: “Local business is vital to us as we depend on people walking through the door. We always go the extra mile for customers, but more often than not get that back in their loyalty.”
The discount covers Tengo Media’s services, including technical support service contracts, web design, branding and bespoke programming. Those companies already using Tengo Media for support contracts will have the discount included in their next bill.
