Take your pics on Route 76

Sponsor of Denbighshire’s Route 76, Artisan Windows, are offering a crate of real ale to the snapper whose picture most sums up the spirit of the July 9 beer festival.

The company, run by Garry Morgan and Ian Gibson, has sponsored Route 76 since it started four years ago. As a real ale fan Ian Gibson admits he didn’t take much persuading when he was asked to become a sponsor.

He’s supported the festival in more ways than one, making every one of the events so far. However, this year instead of propping up the bar at his beloved Golden Lion, Llangynhafal, Mr Gibson will be 3,000 miles away.

He explained: “The date for Route 76 came through quite late and I had already arranged a trip to Canada. As tempting as it was to cancel, I’ve had to accept I’ll miss out this year.”

While he is disappointed not to make it on the day, the Artisan Windows boss is not bitter. To find out what he missed, Mr Gibson is calling on festival goers to post their photographs from the event on the Artisan Windows Facebook wall.

“This will be the first Route 76 I’ve not made it to, and I hear this year’s event is expected to be the best ever,” he said. “I’m hoping to find out what I missed when I get back home and people post their pictures from the day on our Facebook wall.”

The photograph that Denbigh-based Artisan Windows think sums up Route 76 will win a case of real ale.

Mr Gibson added: “I’m hoping as many people as possible will get involved so that the Facebook wall will also create a collection of moments from what promises to be a great day.”
